How does a non-profit association work?
A non-profit association operates according to the democratic principle where each member who has paid a contribution of active member has the right to vote at the Annual General Meeting where decisions are taken.

Why do I have to give my name and address?
To be credible, the AFMB must keep a file of its members up to date with their full name and address because it is our best asset against those who would question our representativeness: we are not a forum and our members are neither virtual nor anonymous!
We guarantee confidentiality in accordance with the 
European GDPR regulations (see our Privacy Policy). Each member can consult their information online and modify them at any time.
What is the money collected by contributions used for?
The money collected is used to finance the expenses voted in the Annual General Meeting: activities, projects, insurance, management fees, website.

How does the AFMB work, who makes the decisions?
The AFMB operates like any non-profit association:
- The active members present at the ordinary general meeting (or represented by a proxy) exchange, modify and vote (or reject) the proposals made by the Board of Directors.
- The Board of Directors is elected during the annual General Assembly and then meets to elect the members of the office: president, treasurer, secretary. The members of the Board of Directors are renewed by thirds every year.
Doesn't the AFMB do “BMW bashing”?
If we sometimes give a different or contradictory opinion on the assertions of BMW Motorrad, it is always argued and justified. The AFMB is not a communication relay for BMW Motorrad, unlike other organizations directly or indirectly subsidized by the brand, dealers or professionals and equipment manufacturers.
On the contrary, through our information actions we participate in providing – with the help of experts in each field – objective information free from any controversy, which also helps to reduce this “internet effect” who could make believe that “BMW quality is not like before".

What is the AFMB's relationship with BMW Motorrad?
As a totally independent association, the AFMB has no dependency relationship with BMW Motorrad.
The purpose of the AFMB is to be a credible interlocutor to represent the interests and expectations of its members, all owners of the brand's motorcycles, vis-à-vis BMW Motorrad.
