What is the AFMB?

AFMB afmb.bike was created in 2004, on the initiative of Paul OPITZ (Bordeaux – FRANCE), by owners of BMW motorcycles for :

  • Collect, analyze, synthesize and share through publications quality information on the brand's products (motorcycles, accessories, technologies) and services (maintenance, repairs, warranty, after-sales service);
  • Ensure that the same problem, whether it concerns 10 or 10.000 motorcycles, is solved in the same way for everyone;
  • Raise the expectations of owners of BMW motorcycles to those responsible for the brand so that they are taken into account.

AFMB afmb.bike aims tokeep up to date with brand news, including on sensitive subjects such as the guarantee of certain known defects or obtaining precise answers from BMW's technical services.

AFMB afmb.bike is a independent international association of BMW and dealers in order to avoid any direct or indirect influence of the brand on his actions.

AFMB afmb.bike is a international non-profit association, who refuses all publicity, and who only lives membership fees in order to guarantee its total independence.

AFMB afmb.bike does not propose no forum to avoid pointless debates and the dissemination of fake or biased information. Its role is to publish serious articles based on factual technical and scientific elements analyzed by specialists with the aim of informing owners of BMW motorcycles.

AFMB afmb.bike is for everyone motorcycle owners of the BMW Motorrad brand.

AFMB afmb.bike does not have the role of answering questions concerning worries that you may encounter with your dealer or manage them. For this you must contact a consumer defense association or a lawyer.

The AFMB Board of Directors afmb.bike is renewed each year at the General Assembly¹ where each active member has the right to vote. It is this Annual Meeting that decides on the strategy of the association and the financial resources. The accounts are checked and validated each year during the Annual Meeting.

Any member up to date with their annual subscription can become an active member to participate in decisions and be elected to the Board of Directors¹ of the association and become its president (or president) regardless of their nationality because the AFMB afmb.bike aims to bring together owners from all countries in order to create a credible contact with BMW Motorrad.
